Have you ever sat down with a child and let them express their dreams about the future? It’s absolutely awesome to watch them share what’s on their heart.
Long before the burden of paying the bills and long before your parents, school teachers, or closest friends told you that you couldn’t do it, it was too expensive, took too many years, was unrealistic, or just plain stupid… long before the harsh world sucked it out of you, WHAT WAS REALLY ON YOUR HEART?
What did Living the Dream really look like?
It’s time to start dreaming again. The world doesn’t need more people trying to eke out an existence as they emotionally kill themselves over the things in life that don’t really matter. The last thing we need is some new lawyer who’s in it solely for the money, some new teacher who’s in it for summers off, or some gal to work at a factory because she over mortgaged herself and sees no way out.
Your life purpose is way too important for you to barely get by. Your life purpose is connected to making this world a better place and requires you stepping into your dreams so all of us can reap the benefits of you living out your destiny.
I was incredibly moved a few weeks ago when a patient told me that she was inspired by one of our writings to start a soup kitchen. This was a dream that had been on her heart that she stepped into, and now 60 people get fed on Saturday morning because she’s living the dream.
We all need to start living the dream. Not the American dream, your dream. The one(s) God put you on this earth to do. The one that keeps surfacing even though keep trying to bury it.
Take the first step. Don’t worry about the entire staircase, just take the first step. Let me know how it goes. It’s time for all of us to benefit from you coming fully alive and living the dream. After all, your dream isn’t really for you anyway. Someone else needs it.
Be blessed,
Dr Matt
